Overview
For instructions on general purpose document linking, please see Linking documents to other items in Settle.
Linking bills to ordering documents, such as purchase orders or work orders, allows you to auto-compare line items, amounts, totals, and more. This also allows you to track the associated costs across bills to each PO. Settle helps you ensure that you're getting what you paid for and you're only paying for what you got.
GRNs cannot be linked to an ordering document, as they should be created from the ordering document directly. For information, see Creating a GRN on a Purchase Order, Creating a GRN on a Work Order, or Creating a GRN on an Inventory Transfer.
Link a Purchase Order, Work Order, or Inventory Transfer to a Bill from the Bill
Click into the relevant Bill in Settle where you would like to attach a document.
In the right sidebar, find the "Linked docs" header. At the bottom of the header, you'll see a green "Link document" button.
You can select a specific document type and then select the document. โIf you're not seeing an Ordering Document that you had previously added, just make sure the Order is associated with the same Vendor as the bill.
Now that your Bill is linked to your Vendor Orders, you may see a few alerts related to Settle's automatic comparison tools that can help proactive alert you to problems.
