You can link various documents, such as Quotes, Legal Agreements, or Product Specifications, to your Purchase Orders, Work Orders, or Bills. In this way, Settle becomes the single repository for all of your agreements, interactions, and orders with your Vendors, Suppliers, and other business relationships.

Documents can be linked for general-purposes consolidation, as outlined below. For leveraging three-way match or our order comparison features, please see Linking Bills.

Linking documents to items

  1. Click into the relevant item, such as the bill or purchase order, where you would like to attach a document. In this example, we'll walk you through the process for linking an attachment to a bill.

  2. In the right sidebar, find the "Linked docs" header. At the bottom of the header, you'll see a green "Link document" button.

  3. You can select a specific document type or the generic document type.

  4. Upload the file from your computer. The upload supports a variety of attachment types including PDF, PNG, JPG, and CSV.

  5. You can set the document type from the dropdown, update the file name, and/or add a note. The document is autosaved once successfully uploaded, as are the fields.

  6. This document will now be attached to the item (i.e bill). Any user on the account that can view the item will see this linked doc. It can be viewed via the Linked docs tab on the item. If the item, such as a purchase order or work order, is sent to the vendor via Settle, the attached documents will NOT be included.

Editing or deleting linked documents

At any time, you can click into the 3 dots next to a Linked Document to edit, download, or delete the attachment.
