Settle continues to make managing procurement, financing, accounting, and security even more seamless. This month's updates introduce Purchase Order Financing, expanded Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) capabilities, powerful document editing improvements, enhanced catalog workflows, and several performance and accounting enhancements designed to help teams work faster and more securely.
π New Features
πΈ Purchase Order Financing
Problem: Customers previously had to leave the Purchase Order workflow to finance vendor deposits through Working Capital.
Solution: Purchase Order deposits can now be financed directly within the Purchase Order workflow using Working Capital.
What's New:

β Support for both Amortized and Bullet extended payment terms
β Inline financing agreement signing
β New financing entry points from the Dashboard and Working Capital widget
β Financed payment filtering and tracking throughout the Purchase Order workflow
β Validation to prevent over-financing, currency mismatches, and financing beyond Purchase Order limits
β Permission-aware financing controls with vendor-linked financing safeguards
β End-to-end synchronization for Purchase Order financed payments with QuickBooks Online and NetSuite
β Improved reporting, labeling, filtering, and balance tracking for financed Purchase Orders
β Expanded Purchase Order reporting and financed balance visibility for Operations teams
Why it matters:

π Enhanced MFA & Team Security
Problem: Businesses needed stronger account protection, more flexible security controls, and a simpler MFA experience for administrators and users.
Solution: We've delivered a comprehensive Multi-Factor Authentication overhaul with improved enrollment, administration, support tools, and upcoming Working Capital security requirements.
What's New:
β Role-based MFA enforcement for Admins & Payers or Everyone
β Team-wide MFA visibility directly within the Team page
β Guided MFA setup with QR code onboarding, verification, and recovery codes
β "Remember this device" support to reduce login prompts for trusted devices for 30 days
β MFA is now enforced for Google Sign-In users
β Users must verify their identity before disabling their own MFA
β Fully audited MFA reset functionality for Support teams
β Automated notifications for MFA invitations, policy changes, and MFA resets
β Scheduled reminder emails and in-app notifications ahead of the July 1, 2026 Working Capital MFA requirement for Admins and Payers
Why it matters:
Provides stronger protection against account compromise while giving administrators greater visibility and control over team security with a smoother authentication experience.
π± SMS & Voice Call Authentication
Problem: Authenticator apps provide excellent security, but they aren't always the most convenient authentication method for every team member.
Solution: Added SMS and voice call options for Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), giving users more flexibility when securing their accounts.
What's New:
β Choose SMS or voice call authentication during MFA setup or from Security Settings
β Recovery codes are generated during setup to help users regain access if needed
β Updated MFA verification experience with a cleaner, unified step-up authentication dialog
Why it matters:
Provides a more convenient MFA experience for users who prefer phone-based authentication while maintaining strong account security and improving the overall login experience.
π Batch Update Expense Details
Problem: Updating expense coding across large bills and Purchase Orders required editing each line item individually.
Solution: Expense details can now be updated across multiple line items simultaneously.
What's New:
β Batch actions for Posting Account, Class, and Customer/Project assignments across multiple selected rows
Why it matters:
Speeds up coding for large documents, reduces repetitive manual work, and minimizes data entry errors.
π¦ Line-Item Grid Customization
Problem: Reviewing long item descriptions and organizing columns required unnecessary scrolling and limited customization.
Solution: Line-item grids now support drag-and-drop column ordering and configurable text wrapping.
What's New:
β Drag-and-drop column reordering across Bills, Purchase Orders, Work Orders, and Invoices
β "Wrap all content" enabled by default for improved readability, with the ability to toggle it off
Why it matters:
Makes reviewing documents easier by allowing teams to personalize layouts and view complete line item information without excessive scrolling.
π Clearer Document Resubmission Experience
Problem: Customers often lacked visibility into why financial documents were rejected during underwriting and how to resolve the issue.
Solution: Document rejection reasons and resubmission workflows are now fully integrated into the platform.
What's New:
β Dashboard banners clearly identify required actions
β Upload tasks automatically reopen as resubmissions
β Upload dialogs display rejection reasons from our verification partner
β Automated customer email notifications with next steps
β Automatic Slack notifications for Credit and Customer Success teams
Why it matters:
Provides immediate visibility into document issues, accelerates resolution, and reduces manual follow-up for both customers and internal teams.
β¨ Improvements
β Bills are now automatically itemized using OCR by default for all customers, with missing prices inferred automatically and bill memos prefilled from the first detected line item.
β Additional MFA security improvements now require verification before disabling personal MFA, enforce MFA during user invitations when required by the business, and include scheduled reminder emails for upcoming MFA requirements.
β Catalog selection menus now display image previews on hover, while Purchase Order line items automatically inherit the Posting Account configured on their catalog item.
β Verified, identity-locked businesses can now successfully submit W-9 forms, and signed-out U.S. vendors can once again complete public W-9 submissions.
β The application now remembers your preferred split-view panel width for each document type, eliminating the need to repeatedly resize panels.
β Vendor-only businesses can now access all standard predefined user roles without requiring a billing plan, and permission handling for Approver roles has been refined.
β Accounting firms can now launch Edit in Client Manager directly from a client's Team page for faster staff management.
β Auto-approved payments and invoices are now recorded as dedicated events within the audit trail for improved transparency.
β Bank account cards now display connection status along with the date each account was connected or disconnected.
β External payments can now be added to draft invoices whenever an outstanding balance remains.
β W-9 and W-8 tax form settings have been relocated to Business Settings for easier access.
β Dashboard widgets are now automatically hidden for users without dashboard widget permissions.
β Inviting individual vendors now uses a dedicated modal that keeps your workflow uninterrupted.
π Bug Fixes & Performance Updates
β Fixed an issue where QuickBooks Online Class and Location categories could conflict during accounting synchronization.
β Fixed Inbox automation dropping manually entered email addresses after losing focus.
β Fixed duplicate line items appearing on OCR-itemized bills when background jobs were retried.
β Improved handling of damaged PDF files by displaying a clear error message instead of a generic preview failure.
β Fixed false shipment shortage warnings on single-shipment Purchase Orders by properly syncing default shipment line items.
β Fixed Xero bill imports so bills continue importing successfully even if attachments fail to sync.
β Fixed an issue where vendor credits could apply incorrect amounts and fail to close the dialog.
β Locked accounting details on financed invoice payments to prevent downstream synchronization issues.
β Corrected checkbox alignment when line-item text wrapping is enabled.
β Fixed a bug where selecting a vendor bank account could unexpectedly clear the vendor's EIN.
β Resolved an underlying issue that could cause line-item grids to crash during quick edits.
These updates continue to make Settle a more secure, efficient, and flexible platform for managing procurement, financing, payments, and accounting operations.
