Overview

Properties are customizations to each main catalog item. Properties allow you to add unique styles or types of catalog items without creating multiple catalog items for each of those variations. Examples of properties include size, color, flavor, etc.

SKU management

Stock keeping units, informally known as SKUs, are codes used to keep track of individual inventory units and components. Please note that all SKUs must be unique and not blank across a business. To edit the SKU, click into a Catalog Item and edit the text. Changes will be autosaved.

There are four main types of SKUs that Settle uses to keep track of inventory and purchasing documents:

SKU: The identifier that you use internally to identify an item. This must be unique and not blank.

Vendor SKU: The identifier that your supplier (or vendor) uses to identify a particular item. This is sometimes also referred to as a Manufacturer Code.

Channel SKU: The identifier that a particular sales channel uses to identify an item (e.g. What this item is called on Shopify or FBA?). This is sometimes also referred to as a Sales SKU.

Warehouse SKU: The identifier that your warehouse or WMS team uses to identify a particular item. This is sometimes also referred to as a Package SKU.

Create property templates

You can convert any property into a template, which can be applied to multiple catalog items across your Vendors.

  1. Click the 3 vertical dots next to a property and select + Add to templates from the dropdown.

  2. Confirm the name of the template and click the Add to templates button.

Manage and edit property templates

  1. Navigate to an item and click on the Properties tab. Select Manage property templates to view your existing templates.

  2. Click within the box for the template you want to edit. You'll see the property box changes to a grey color indicating it is the property box you'll navigate in to.

  3. This will open the Edit property template window where you can add, edit, or delete any property values. Click Save once the property values are set.

  4. You can also click Remove to remove this template altogether. Removing the template will not delete any historic variations of catalog items that were created from that template.

Adding properties to catalog items

  1. Properties allow you to add differentiations to each of your catalog items. click on the Properties tab of a Catalog items and select the + Add button.

  2. Input the Property name and all of the associated value options. Click the + Add value option to add all of the values for this property. You can continue to scroll down within the window to add as many values as you have for that property. Once the values have been set, click the Add button in the bottom-right.

  3. These properties will be automatically applied to that catalog item to create variations of the catalog item.
