Settle makes it easy to add a new business, connect an existing business account, or disconnect a business account to your accountant portal.
Add a new business to your client portal
Adding a new business to your client portal is a simple process that can be completed in just a few steps. This article will guide you through the process of adding a new business to your client portal.
Click on the +add new client button located in the top-right corner of your portal. This will open a new window where you can enter the necessary information for the new business.
In the new window, you will need to enter the country of registration, business type, and legal business name for the new business. It is important to ensure that the legal business name is entered exactly as it appears on legal documentation. This will be used in the account verification process, so it is crucial to enter it correctly to save time on the approval process.
Next, you will need to confirm that the new business is not operating in one of the unsupported industries. These industries typically include sectors such as gambling, financial services, and high-risk businesses. To view a full list of unsupported industries, click on the hyperlinked "Unsupported industries" text.
Once all of the necessary information has been entered and confirmed, click on the "Add New Client" button. This will add the new business to your client portal, and you will be able to view the new client account in your portal.
Watch the video below for step-by-step instructions.
Add an existing business to your client portal
A user on the existing Settle business account can simply add a user who is registered on your client portal to connect the two.
β
For example, let's say Shirley has an accountant page, Accounting for You. Her login on that page is shirleyaccountant@accountingforyou.com. She's working with a business that is already on Settle, Lisa Loves Dogs.
β
An admin on Lisa Loves Dogs will simply need to add shirleyaccountant@accountingforyou.com to their Settleaccount in order for Shirley to see Lisa Loves Dogs in her Client Portal.
Remove a business from your client portal
To remove the business, a user at the business will simply remove all accountant users from their business page. This will disconnect their account from your Settle client portal. In doing so, the business will continue to stay active. The business will also move to retail pricing for their subscription.
