As a brand purchasing inventory, you may encounter situations where you order products in one unit of measure (UoM) but store them in your warehouse using a different UoM. Our system now handles these conversions for you, eliminating manual calculations and ensuring accuracy.

Example Scenarios:

  • You order fabric from a European supplier in meters, but your US warehouse reports inventory in yards.

  • You order swatches in yards, but your warehouse tracks them as individual units.

How It Works:

  1. Fixed Conversion Ratio: A predefined conversion ratio is established between the ordering UoM and the inventory UoM. For example, 1 meter is equivalent to 1.0936 yards.

  2. Automatic Conversion: When you create a purchase order (PO) we use the UoM on the Vendor SKU. Settle automatically converts the quantity to the corresponding inventory UoM upon receipt.

  3. Inventory Management: Your inventory records will reflect the converted quantity, ensuring consistency and accuracy in stock tracking.

Benefits:

  • Streamlined Process: Eliminates the need for manual UoM conversions, saving time and effort.

  • Improved Accuracy: Reduces errors associated with manual calculations.

  • Inventory Consistency: Ensures that your inventory records accurately reflect the physical stock on hand.
